Terms and conditions

join is a social network app (the “join App”) that enable people to connect and communicate with each other virtually so they can meet physically whereby people are able to create events for their friends or other join community members to join.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the join App. When you create a join account or use join, you agree to be bound by Terms. These Terms govern your use of the join App, except where expressly state that separate terms or policies (and not these) apply, and provide you with information about the join services offered on our App (the “join App”) as outlined below.

These Terms may be amended from time to time and without notice to you. You are required to keep yourself updated with the Terms by accessing the “Term of Service” on the App or the join website www.join.inc.

The service offered by join is a paid membership service, however, join may from time to time offer the service to you free of charge at its discretion. In addition to the membership fee, business and organizations, and other persons pay join to show ads on the join App for their products and/or services. By using the join App, you agree that join can show you ads that join thinks may be relevant to you and your interests. join uses your personal data to help determine which ads to show you.

join doesn’t sell your personal data to advertisers or any third parties, and join doesn’t share information that directly identifies you (such as your name, email address or other contact information) with advertisers unless you give us specific permission to do so. However, join does show ads to people who may be interested, depending on the kind of audience advertiser want to show their ads to. join may provide advertisers with reports about the performance of their ads that help them understand how people are interacting with their ads, however, join at no stage will share or sell your personal data to them.

By agreeing to these Terms, you also agree to our Privacy Policy (LINK). Please read the Privacy Policy to understand how join collect and use your personal data, how join may use such data to determine some of the ads join show you and provide all the other services described below.

join Services

join agrees to provide you with the join App, subject to the Terms herein. It is join’s mission to connect people virtually so they can meet physically thus building stronger communities and bringing people together in a convenient way.

join services are offered to you through the join App; however, join may also introduce other platforms, software, technologies, products and services to you in the future. Below are the join Services offered to you in line with join’s mission:

Personalized join Profile:

You can create your personalized profile on join and update your profile at any time. On your profile you can share your personal information, stories, events and other content you wish to appear on the join Feed. You will have the option to make your profile public or private, however, based on your profile information join will help you find, create and join events that may matter to you.

Connecting You

You can connect to with people, groups, businesses and organizations that you choose and matter to you. Other than connecting with friends on join, join help you connect with new people, discover new business and organizations based on your geographical location or personal interests. join may use your data to make suggestions to you accordingly, such as public events in your community, people or organizations with similar interest as well as important news and updates worldwide.

Create Events

On join you can create events by specifying the type, date, time and location of the event as well including a brief description or instruction to invitees. You have 3 choices of types of events, (i) private events open to specified persons, (ii) private events open to your friends (iii) public events open to any join user. You will be able to control the number of attendees you wish to invite and view who has requested or accepted to join an event in real time. You have full control over your events and who can view them by using the event settings on the App thus controlling whether your events appear in your or your friends join feed.

Communicate

join will offer you the opportunity to communicate with your friends and the wider community through various features, including, sharing your status updates, uploading photos and videos, sharing your events as well as commenting, liking and sharing other join members events and posts. With seamless communication in real time, you can keep updated with events around you as well as communicate with invitees and attendees of your events.

Discovery

Various organizations, institutions and companies are also members of join, so join will help you discover various events of interest in your local community as well as around the world. Published events will appear on your join feed depending on your selected interests and join will also show you personalized ads, offers and other commercially sponsored content to further help you connect with the wider community.

Security

join take security as seriously as you do, join have built comprehensive system in place to allow you to report inappropriate, harmful or fraudulent use of the join App. join employ a dedicated team to deal with all reported incidents and join have a zero-tolerance approach to any misuse of the join App. Accounts and/or events will be suspended and/or disabled if join feel that any content or an account is harmful to the join community.

Registration and Accounts

You may browse the join App without registering, but as a condition to using certain aspects of the join App, you must register an account with join. During the registration process, you will be required to provide certain information and you will establish a username and a password. You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current and complete.

join reserves the right to suspend or terminate your join account if any information provided during the registration process or thereafter proves to be inaccurate, not current or incomplete.

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and login details. You agree not to disclose your password or login details to any third party and to take sole responsibility for any activities or actions under your join account, whether you have authorized such activities or actions. You will immediately notify join of any unauthorized use of your join account.

The join App is intended for persons 13 years or older. Any access to or use of the join app by anyone under the age of 13 is strictly prohibited. By registering your account, you confirm and warrant that you are 13 years or older. If you become aware that another join member is under the 13 years old, you are required to notify join immediately.

You are responsible for all the content you post on the join App, whether such content and information are public or private.

You confirm and warrant that you will not use a username that is:

the name of another person with the intent to impersonate that person.
subject to any rights of a person other than you without appropriate authorizations.
that includes language that is offensive, vulgar or obscene or otherwise unlawful.

join reserves the right to refuse registration of or cancel a username and account in its sole discretion or change its eligibility criteria at any time. You are solely responsible for ensuring that these Terms are in compliance with all laws, rules and regulations applicable to you and the right to access the join App is revoked where these Terms or use of the join App is prohibited and, in such circumstances, you agree not to use or access the join App in any way.

If you create an account or use the join App on behalf of an organization, company or institution of any kind (“Organization”) then you represent and warrant to us that:

You are legally authorized to use or create an account on the join App on behalf of the Organization;

You are legally authorized to use the name or any other intellectual property of the Organization on the join App;

By using the join App, you bind both yourself and the Organization that you represent on the join account.

You shall bare full and sole responsibility towards the Organization or third parties with respect to your join account and the content you upload, post or publish on the account.

You understand that referent to “You” in these Terms shall refer both to you as an individual and the Organization you represent on the join account.

join Subscription Fees

join accounts are subject to a regular subscription fee (“Subscription Fee”). By creating an account, you agree to pay the applicable Subscription Fee either during the account registration procedure or once you are notified after your account is registered.

join may waive the Subscription Fee for a certain or indefinite period at its sole discretion. However, once a Subscription Fee becomes applicable, join shall notify you by email and/or on the join App (30) thirty days in advance so that you may decide on whether you wish to maintain or cancel your account.

For so long as your join account and subscription remain active in accordance with these Terms, you will benefit from access to the join App. If your subscription is unpaid, join may a suspend your join account immediately and without notice. If your account remains suspended for a period of (3) three consecutive months, join may delete your join account permanently.

join may, from time to time, vary the benefits associated with a subscription by giving you written notice of the variation, providing that, if in our reasonable opinion such a variation results in a substantial loss of value or functionality, you shall have the right to cancel your subscription, and join will refund to you any amounts paid to us in respect of any period of subscription after the date of such cancellation.

At the end of any period of subscription for which you have paid, and subject to the other provisions of these terms and conditions, your subscription will be automatically renewed, and you must pay to us the applicable Subscription Fees, unless you cancel the subscription using the cancellation function on the join App before the date of renewal.

Using join

You understand that the join App is a social networking platform, whereby all content is created by other join members. You acknowledge and understand that you are required to strictly adhere to the Terms with respect to your use of the join App as defined herein and as maybe amended from time to time.

You understand that join does not pre-screen content posted by join members on the join App, therefore you understand and agree to carefully evaluate and bear all risks associated with the use of any content, including any reliance on the accuracy, completeness, or useful of such content. Under no circumstances will join be responsible for the content you or other join members share, post or transmit publicly or privately on the join App.

The main feature of the join App is the creation of events and inviting people you may or may not know in person. You confirm and warrant that all events that you have created are genuine events and are not created to hate, mislead or defraud join users. You also agree that your events will not incite hate or crimes of any nature.

When agreeing to attend a meeting arranged on the join App, you are expected to use discretion, diligence, caution and common sense when communicating with other join members on the join App. Before sharing your personal details or agreeing to meet a join member in person, you are expected to ensure your own safety on and off the join App.

You acknowledge and understand that join cannot be held responsible for the behavior of join members, either on or off the App, and join cannot guarantee that any information provided by a join member is true, accurate, complete, current and not misleading; and you will not hold us liable in respect of any loss or damage arising out of any join member’s behavior or information either on or off the App. You are solely responsible for your interactions (including disputes) with other join members.

join encourages community engagement and values people connecting with each other globally. As a join member you are required to respect and adhere to the following community guidelines to avoid your comments, posts, events or even account suspended or deleted by join without notice and without justification:

join as a social networking application is open to the public, therefore, anything posted by any join member may be seen and ready by everyone. You are expected to take full responsibility for the content you post or share on the join App and be cautious not to share information that you do not want to be viewed by others. You are fully responsible for navigating the various privacy features on the join App in terms of controlling which content may and may not be viewed publicly.

You are required to protect your own personal information which you find sensitive. NEVER share your personal identification or banking information on the join App. You will never be asked to share your banking information by join, all payments would be processed through protected payment gateways.

You are expected to use your join account for genuine purposes of connecting with your friends or the wider community. You will not create dangerous, harmful, fake or fraudulent events on the join App irrespective whether such events take place or do not.

You will not use the join App to meet or communicated with underaged persons. If you think or suspect that a join member is underaged and below the age of 13 years old, you must stop communication and report the same to join immediately.

Only post content that is yours or that you have permission to post to avoid intellectual property violations. Content that is subject to intellectual property rights may be flagged for removal and you shall bare sole responsibility if your content is found to be in violation.

Harassment, abuse, or threats to others is not tolerated by join. You shall not post any content which is considered abusive, harassing, stalking, threatening or attacking others; defamatory, offensive, obscene, vulgar or depicting violence; references to upsetting or distressing subjects; hateful in language targeting race/ethnicity, age, color, creed, religion, gender, sexual preference or orientation, nationality or political beliefs; Sexually explicit or pornographic; fraudulent, deceptive, libelous, misleading or unlawful; references to criminal or illegal activity; violations of any intellectual property rights; spamming in nature or viruses or programs that could damage the operation of other people’s computers or mobile devices; commercial solicitations or solicitation of donations.

You acknowledge, consent and agree that join may access, preserve and disclose your account information and content if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such access preservation or disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, enforce these Terms of Service, respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third parties, respond to your requests for customer service; or to protect the rights, property or personal safety of join, its users, its employees and the public.

You retain ownership of all content you share or make available on the join App, and you may delete any of your content at any time unless you shave shared such content or information with others and they have not deleted it, or it was copied or stored by others. With respect to any content that you have shared on the join App, you grant join the following nonexclusive, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, unlimited, assignable, sublicensable, fully paid up and royalty-free license(s) to copy, use, distribute, remove, retain, reproduce, modify, adapt, publicly perform and publicly display such content on the join App solely for the purposes of providing and promoting the join App. This license exists only for as long as you elect to continue to include such content on the join App and will terminate at the time you remove or join removes such content from the join App.

Termination of Accounts

join reserves the right at its sole discretion, with or without cause, at any time and with or without notice, to suspend, terminate or refuse to provide you with access to the join app or certain services within the join App.

If join suspends, disables or terminates your account for any reason, you confirm and warrant that you will not create another account neither directly nor indirectly without express written consent from join to do so.

If join at its sole discretion is of the opinion that you have breached these Terms, join may seek other remedies available by law and the termination, suspension or refusal to provide you with access to the join App or certain services within the join App shall not be treated as a waiver of rights to additional remedies.

join may notify the authorities in any jurisdiction is it suspect or determines that you are in engaged in any activities or actions that may be considered illegal, harmful or have the potential to cause risk to yourself, other join members , join employees or the public. join is hereby authorized to share the content of your account with the relevant authorities for this purpose and shall not be liable to you or any third parties for such disclosures.

You, at all times, have the right to temporarily disable or permanently terminate your own account at any time by using the relevant features within the join App. You may disable your account temporarily for a period of (60) sixty days, however, if you do not reactivate your account, it shall automatically be terminated and permanently deleted. Once your account is permanently deleted, you will lose all content, material and information on your account; and join are not responsible to you or any third parties for the deletion of your content, material or information upon termination of your account. Any active events created by you shall automatically be deleted from the join App and may no longer be viewed by other join members. Any comments, likes or shares shall also be deleted upon termination.

The suspension or termination of your account, for whatever reason, will not affect your obligations under these Terms and all terms herein are intended to survive the termination or suspension of your account.

Intellectual Property

The join App and any intellectual property rights associated with the join App or the join brand, logo, service name, trademarks and designs is the property of join (“join Marks”). You agree and understand that you will not use, distribute, display or amend any join Marks without join’s express written approval and permission.

The join App contains content owned or developed on behalf of join by third party content developers and creators (“join Content”). join Content is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and other laws, and join owns and retains all rights in the join Content and the join App.

join hereby grants you a limited, revocable, non-sublicensable license to use join Content (excluding any App or software code) solely for your personal use in connection with viewing and using the join App.

You agree and warrant that you will not use or breach these terms relating to Intellectual Property and understand that you shall be liable for any breaches to fullest extent of the law.

Copyright Policy

join respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects join members to do the same. If you feel that copyrights have been infringed on the join App, please contact join Copyright Personnel by email on copyright@join.inc and please include the following information in the email: (i) a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed; (iii) identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity and that is to be removed, and information reasonably sufficient to permit join to locate the material on the join App; (iv) your contact information, including your address, telephone number, and an email address; (v) a statement by you that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and (vi) a statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner. join Copyright Personnel will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law and are properly provided to join. Incomplete information may result in delay in response or non-response.

join reserve the right, at its sole discretion, to remove any content alleged to be infringing copyrights without prior notice, and without liability to you. join may also, if it sees suitable, terminate or suspend your account for determined or suspected copyright infringements.

Warranty Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, join has not special relationship with or fiduciary duty to you. You understand that join has no control over, and no duty to take any action regarding: which join members gain access to the join App, what content is shared on the join App or what effect it may have on you, what events are created on the join App, what happens and who attend meeting arranged on or off the join App, how you interpret or evaluate content on the join App or any actions you may take after viewing content on the join App or attending meetings arranged on the join App, or advertisements shown to you on the join App.

You expressly release join from all liability with respect to the join App, the services offered, content shared, advertisements shown, meetings arranged on the join App by any join member.

You expressly release join from all liability with respect to the relationships and connections you make on the join App, and you understand that you use the join App at your sole risk.

The join App and all the services and features offered on the join App are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” and join makes not representations or warranties (whether express or implied) with respect to the join App, its usability, its content, meetings arranged on the join App, identify of join members, behavior or actions of other join members or the accuracy of any information presented on the join App.

join makes no representations or warranties (whether express or implied) with respect to title, non-infringement, merchantability, fitness for purpose nor any warranties implied by any course of performance or trade.

In no event shall join be liable for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect, general, special, consequential, compensatory and/or incidental damages arising out of or relating to the conduct of you or any other join member (on or off the join App) in connection with the join App, including but not limited to, bodily injury, emotional or psychological distress and any other damages resulting in any way from the use of or communication or meetings with join members you may otherwise meet through join App.

join, its shareholders, directors, employees, agents, representatives, suppliers, partners and content providers do not warrant that:

The join App is free from any defects or errors nor that such defects or errors will be corrected;

The join App will be secure or available at any particular time or geographical location nor that the join App will become secure or resume availability at any particular time or geographical location;

Any content or services available through the join App is free from harmful content or components;

That the results of using the join App or attending any meetings arranged on the join App will meet the descriptions provided nor meet your requirements;

That content of any advertisements shown on the join App in any way.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless join and its shareholders, officers, directors, employees, representatives, licensors and agents, from and against any claims, suits, proceedings, disputes, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees (including costs of defense of claims, suits or proceedings brought by third parties), arising out of or in any way related to (i) your access to or use of the join App (ii) content you share on the join app (iii) your events arranged on the join App and any actions or omissions during the meetings off the join App, or (iv) your breach of any of these Terms.

Dispute Resolution

If you have any disputes with join, you shall first reach out to join Disputes Personnel in writing, specifying the concerns and dispute at the following email disputes@join.inc and allow join (30) thirty days to respond to your written email for an amicably resolution.

Any disputes between join and you shall be governed by law of Delaware, United State without regard to or application of its conflict of law provisions or your state or country of residence. Courts in Delaware, United States shall have the exclusive jurisdiction to determine and decide on such disputes

If you have any disputes with any other join users or advertisers who have advertised their products or services or events on the join App, you shall resolve such issues or disputes with them directly and join shall not be party to such disputes or such claims.

No Third-Party Beneficiaries

You agree and understand that, except as otherwise expressly provided for in these Terms, there shall be no third-party beneficiaries to this agreement.

Entire Agreement/Severability

These Terms, together with any amendments and any additional agreements you may enter into with join in connection with the join App, shall constitute the entire agreement between you and join concerning the join App. If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such provision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of the Terms, which shall remain in full force and effect.

No Waiver

No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term, and join’s failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
